What to Expect:

  • I’ve worked with clients with many types of OCD and anxiety—folks experiencing taboo or unusual thoughts; people afraid of contamination or being in enclosed spaces (planes, elevators); new mothers experiencing intrusive thoughts around their baby. No matter how scary or isolating these thoughts may feel, they all fall within how anxiety and OCD operate. In other words, what you’re experiencing is “normal,” in that your brain is coping the best way it knows how. You’re not alone; many individuals experience anxiety in this way. The great news is that OCD and anxiety disorders are incredibly responsive to cognitive-based therapy (CBT), and my clients have seen positive results in a relatively short amount of time.

  • Sessions are generally 1-2 times a week for 45 minutes, either in person or via video conference.

For those looking for intensive short-term treatment, I also offer intensive 90-minute treatment sessions, 2-3 times per week. This may also include home visits.

  • I tend to offer more structure than most traditional therapists so that we can alleviate symptoms as efficiently and quickly as possible. During our initial sessions together, a comprehensive evaluation and a tailored treatment plan will be formulated collaboratively. With a clear vision of your goals, we’ll work forward methodically to meet them. You’ll know in advance the exercises we are going to do in our time together. Between sessions, there is often homework or practice of techniques that are discussed in session.

  • My approach is proactive. That means we approach your fears in a structured, collaborative way so that you’re feeling better, doing more, and experiencing renewed agency in your daily life. My expertise and clinical research background are in science-backed methodologies like cognitive-based therapy (CBT) and exposure and response therapy (ERP), tools I use in a compassionate, collaborative setting geared toward meeting your goals. I’m happy to tell you more in our consultation call.

  • I am an out-of-network provider and do not accept insurance directly, but the cost of therapy is often partially reimbursable (30-80%) by insurance after meeting your deductible. The best way to find out about reimbursement is to contact your insurance company to inquire about their reimbursement rate and their process for submitting. For each session, you will be provided with a billing statement that can be submitted to your insurance company for reimbursement. We can discuss fees and this process during our initial call together.

  • I offer a 15-minute consultation call at no charge so that you can ask any questions you may have, tell me about yourself, and so we can determine whether it would be a good fit to work together. I’m excited to meet you!
